The mission of St. Francis Youth Group is to draw teenage parishioners closer to Christ, growing in knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church. We pursue this while also sharing in fun social activities and serving others, growing in community together.
No registration is required for either of our youth groups, just come by at the designated times to hang out!
Our High School Youth Group (9th-12thgrade) meets on Sundays from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. At these meetings we gather in social fellowship as well as close personal discussions on our life in faith. On the third (3rd) Sunday of every month our high school group volunteers at the Open Door Soup Kitchen in Norwalk, feeding those in need. Throughout the year we also have opportunities to attend conferences and events with other Youth Groups in the Diocese.
Our Junior High School Group (6th-8thgrade) meets Fridays from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. These events range from our annual trip to Lake Compounce’s Haunted Graveyard, movie nights, and our End of the Year Outdoor Games Kick-off Party. Service opportunities are also available when we visit the Notre Dame Health and Rehabilitation Center in Norwalk.
ABOUT THE YOUTH CENTER
The Youth Center was created our Weston youth to have a place to hang out with their friends and just be themselves in a God Centered atmosphere. During the Youth Center open hours when there is no regular scheduled youth event, we encourage the youth to come with their friends and hang out, play games, play the x-box, watch a movie (we have Netflix and hulu), we have a pool table, and multiple other games and activities to choose from. They can also use this as a place to study, do their homework and have a study group. The possibilities are endless with the new youth center. It does not matter if you are Catholic or not, everyone is welcome.
We will always have at least 2 virtus trained adults in the room at all times for supervision. If you are interested we could always use more virtus trained adults.
Fine print: Regular church and CCD rules do apply. Be respectful. The type of video games and movies/TV allowed is at discretion. If it's something that is not appropriate it is not allowed. For their safety, when picking up your youth please come into the youth center to get them. Thank you!
Downloadable Permission Slip is accessible in the Documents menu to the left.
