Attached is an update from Bishop Caggiano dated today, March 13, 2020, concerning the current procedures in place across the Diocese of Bridgeport.
Among his directives is this important new message:
“Beginning the Third Sunday of Lent (March 14-15) through the Fifth Sunday of Lent (March 28-29), I am temporarily dispensing all Catholics of the Diocese of Bridgeport from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass.”
In addition, beginning March 13, all diocesan schools will be closed for a period of two weeks.
All of the policies and procedures put in place during the last week will remain in effect through March 30. As that date approaches, we will reassess the situation and advise you of any further steps to be taken. As a reminder, through March 30:
All social events are canceled.
All MASSES will be offered in the church as scheduled.
Confessions and Stations of the Cross will be held as scheduled.
