A group of us have been saying this prayer together, a short prayer to Mary that was said centuries ago during another pandemic, every night on Zoom at 8:30 PM since March. We believe in the power of this prayer and the power of doing this together. As we start the New Year we are asking you to join us. Anyone is welcome to join us on Zoom or say the prayer on your own. What’s important is that we pray, and if possible, to say it between 8-9:00 PM so there are a surge of voices reaching to heaven. If you want to join us on Zoom, the time is 8:30 PM. Email Linda Nash at
[email protected] for the Zoom link. The prayer is:
O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope.
We entrust ourselves to you,
Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus' pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of your People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee,
we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings, and carried our sorrows, to lead us through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection.
Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger,
O glorious and blessed Virgin.
Amen.
