On March 13, Fr Jeff sent a prayer to parishioners for protection from COVID-19. On March 14, after polling a large number of people, many of us joined a Zoom call at 8:30pm to say this prayer together. We have not missed a night since then. Even is everyone can’t make every night, a few people are always there. We invite anyone to join us at:
We pray at 8:30pm. If you can’t join our call, please consider praying on your own (maybe even at 8:30pm or whatever works for you), or creating your own family or friends prayer group. As we enter Phase 3 and head into colder weather, the one thing we know for sure is the power of prayer! Here’s the prayer:
O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus' pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of your People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings, and carried our sorrows, to lead us through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
